ബാങ്ക്, ടെലിഫോൺ ഓപ്പറേറ്റർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തിയുള്ള ഫോൺ സ്കാമേഴ്‌സിനെ കുറിച്ച് അനുഭവസ്ഥർ പറഞ്ഞറിവും കേട്ടറിവുമുള്ള എനിക്ക് ഇന്ന് തികച്ചും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ഒരു കോൾ വന്നു.
ഒമാൻ ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിലെ കോവിഡ് വാക്സിനേഷൻ കൺട്രോൾ സെല്ലിൽ നിന്നുമാണെന്നു സ്വയം പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി വടിവൊത്ത ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ പ്രഭാത വന്ദനവും കുശലാന്വേഷണവും നടത്തിയാണ് കാര്യത്തിലേക്ക് കടന്നത്.
മൂന്ന് ഡോസ് വാക്സിനും എടുത്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞോ എന്ന ചോദ്യത്തിന് അതെ എന്ന് ഉത്തരം നൽകി. അടുത്ത ചോദ്യം ഏത് ബ്രാൻഡ് വാക്സിൻ ആണ് എടുത്തത് എന്നായി. ഫൈസർ എന്ന് ഉത്തരം നൽകി

അതിനു ശേഷമാണ് കാര്യത്തിലേക്ക് കടന്നത്. എന്റെ ഫോണിലെ Tarasud ആപ്പിൽ അപ്‌ഡേറ്റ് ചെയ്ത വിവരങ്ങൾ ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിലെ കോവിഡ് വാക്സിൻ സെർവറിൽ അപ്‌ഡേറ്റ് ആയില്ല പോലും. സെർവറിൽ അപ്‌ഡേറ്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ ഫോണിലേക്ക് 5 അക്കമുള്ള ഒരു നമ്പർ അയക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നും അത് അവർക്ക് അറിയിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ ഫുൾ വാക്സിനേറ്റഡ് ആയി ഒമാനിലെ പൊതു ഇടങ്ങളിൽ നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ ഒന്നുമില്ലാതെ സഞ്ചരിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചു.
അങ്ങിനെ നമ്പർ കൊടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള സഞ്ചാര സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ആവശ്യമില്ല എന്ന് വളരെ മാന്യമായ ഭാഷയിൽ ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചവനോട് അരുൾ ചെയ്തു. എന്നെക്കാളും വളരെ മാന്യമായ ഭാഷയിൽ എന്നോട് പ്രത്യഭിവാദ്യം ചെയ്തു ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിലെ മഹാനുഭാവൻ ഫോൺ ഡിസ്കണക്ട് ചെയ്തു

I have been hearing from many people about phone scammers, who have approached them by introducing as calls from bankers and telephone operators. But today I received a completely different call
Today morning I have received a call introducing himself as the representative of Oman Ministry of Helath, Covid Vaccination Cell. He greeted a warm good morning and enquired about my well being.
He then asked me whether I had taken all three doses of covid vaccine; after my confirmation he asked me about the vaccine brand; I replied as “Pfizer”
The next question was whether the vaccine details are updated in the Tarasud portal of the Ministry of Health, Oman. I again replied “yes”
Then the caller informed me that the information updated in the Tarasud app on my phone is not reflecting in the covid vaccine server at the Ministry of Health. He asked me to share the 5 digit number sent to my phone in order to update the details in the server and informed that after the updation I will be considered as fully vaccinated and this will enable me to move around in the public places without any restrictions.
I told the caller in a “very polite language” that there is no need of any freedom of movement by sharing any number. He “more politely greeted me” back and disconnected the phone.
